Vaccines are always produced to help eliminate or alleviate the destruction of many known bacterial viruses and diseases. While this is their main purpose, many people today suffer from vaccine reactions that can cause all sorts of different side affects including the ultimate vaccine reaction of death. While this generally takes place in a very small number of people around the world, it is a reality of vaccine reactions.

One of the most common vaccines, and one of the most important ever developed was one call the MMR vaccine. This is a combined live vaccine to inoculate people against rubella, measles and mumps. The majority of the time it is given to children at the age of around one years old, and then again at the age of four or five, before they start their schooling. It has been vastly used since it was introduced into the mainstream in the 1970’s with over 500 hundred million units injected in over sixty countries. While the vast majority do not experience any type of negative vaccine reaction, those that do may experience a number of different side effects such as; fever or skin rash that can last for a few weeks after the injection. On rare occasions this can be accompanied by the salivary glands becoming swelled as well as aching and swollen joints. although most children rarely have serious vaccine reactions, about one in every one hundred thousand will notice more severe reactions. These can be treated if they are caught in time.

Over the past few years, some have argued that the MMR vaccine is the link to other more fatal diseases and conditions including; bowel disorders, autism, and Crohns disease. I has also been linked to the brain disorder known as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD). CJD is a rare, incurable, and fatal brain disease that has to with an abnormal form of structured protein found in the brain. In the 1980’s and 90’s many pharmaceutical companies had law suits brought upon them for the vaccine reactions that their vaccines were thought to cause. Although many were not substantiated and the finding proved to be inconclusive, the debate and research goes on to find the causes of these deadly vaccine reactions.

It was thought that the disease Pertussis, commonly known as ‘whooping cough’ because of the sounds a ‘whoop’ that the cough produces, was thought to be eradicated. Many parents have decided that the vaccine reactions that their children may display was not worth the risk of the injections. These vaccine reactions caused by the DPT vaccine included an allergic reaction, a decrease in consciousness, lasting brain type diseases, prolonged seizures and death in some rare cases.

The benefits of any vaccine that has been developed and used around the world far outweigh the possible vaccine reactions that cause potentially life threatening consequences that happen in certain circumstances. With millions of children and adults alike being given all sorts of vaccines throughout the time of there arrival on the scene, the numbers of successful results dwarfs the actual known number of fatal or semi fatal vaccine reactions results.
